Emma Harper Turner Fund:  Disaster Relief

The Pi Beta Phi Foundation’s Emma Harper Turner (EHT) Fund is one philanthropic project that is close to the hearts of many alumnae and collegians.  The EHT Fund provides one-time grants or monthly stipends to alumnae in dire financial need, alumnae continuing their education due to extreme circumstances and for the education expenses of collegians who have experienced a life change that jeopardizes their ability to stay in school.  After Hurricane Katrina, the Foundation Board of Trustees also voted to add disaster relief measures to the EHT Fund program to ease the application process for members residing in Presidentially declared disaster areas, to expand on the need with which we are able to assist collegians and to speed the distribution of aid.

We are all aware of this summer's storms and flooding in the Midwest, wildfires in California and hurricane damage in Texas. Please help us notify those residing in Presidentially declared disaster areas of the Emma Harper Turner Fund.

Below is a link to a PDF file of the EHT Fund Immediate Needs Disaster Relief Grant application.  Please notice that only one Pi Phi sponsor, to verify need, is required of the Disaster Relief Grant application.  This differs from the three required of normal EHT applications.

Applications for grants must be received on or before the six month anniversary of the date of the Presidential declaration of disaster.

Our thoughts go out to all those affected.

The Campaign for the Pi Beta Phi Foundation

June 30, 2008, marked the official completion of the $6 million Endowment Campaign for the Pi Beta Phi Foundation.  The Foundation is pleased to announce the campaign’s monetary goal was met and exceeded!

The Foundation asked individuals, chapters, and alumnae clubs to lead the way to a better future for deserving collegians and alumnae, to serve the Fraternity and its members in need, and to give generously… to make a difference… and to live the Pi Phi legacy.   YOU did just that.  Thank you!

The additional $6 million in endowment will enable the Foundation to significantly increase funding to, among others, its three primary focuses of education, leadership development, and philanthropy.

The Foundation extends a sincere thank you to all who gave, served, and participated in this campaign.

Now for the best part.  Sit-back, relax (you deserve it), and watch as needed, new, and wonderful grants and endeavors are realized because of this great success in Pi Phi history.
